Asters defended the interests of Home Box Office in a dispute concerning Chornobyl series

Asters successfully defended the interests of Home Box Office, an American multinational media and entertainment company, in a dispute concerning the production and distribution in Ukraine of “Chornobyl” – an award-winning limited series.

The plaintiff sought deletion of certain scenes from “Chornobyl” series and prohibition to Home Box Office and other defendants on the matter to distribute the series in Ukraine.

The court, however, did not find any evidence of breach of the plaintiff’s right by the producers of the series and dismissed the lawsuit.

The matter was handled by litigation and intellectual property practice teams comprising partners Julia Semeniy and Andriy Pozhidayev, as well as senior associates Viktor Tarasenkov and Olena Kozhokar.
